🌈 Why we care about it?

<aside> 💡 Self-care as a manager is crucial as it directly impacts your ability in effectively leading and supporting your team. Including all aspects of self - mental, emotional, and physical health. Self-care is actually a leadership skill! Think about what they always tell us during the flight announcement before take off - If you are travelling with a child or someone who requires assistance, secure your mask on first, and then assist the other person. If you run out of oxygen first, how are you supposed to help anyone else?

🔧 Here’s what you need to do:

Self-Care is a daily practice and responsibility.

2 main components:

  1. Doing things that fuel your energy,
  2. Doing less things that unnecessarily drain your energy.

To be an effective manager, you need to be good to yourself - not just to your team. It can be easy to put the needs of your team ahead of your own, but you can easily tip the scales to go down the road of hurting your own performance and even worse…burnout.

Something on defining boundaries.

Something on shifting your perspective - less judgmental and more of seeing the opportunity / giving yourself grace.

Small things that matter - incremental gains.
