🔏 Statutory Entitlement
To be eligible for New Parent Leave, you must be taking time off to look after the child and be one of the following...
- be the spouse, civil partner, or partner of the birth mother or adopter, and have or expect to have responsibility for bringing up the child
- the child’s adopter
- the intended parent (if you’re having a baby through a surrogacy arrangement)

👶 Automata Entitlement
Your entitlement as an Automata employee
- An eligible employee can take up to 8 weeks’ of New Parent Leave
- You get the same amount of leave if your partner has multiple births (such as twins)
- You do not need to take all of your leave in one go but must be taken in blocks of weeks
- A week is the same amount of days that you normally work in a week - for example, a week is 2 days if you only work on Mondays and Tuesdays
- These can be taken in the first 12 months from the birth of your child and must be taken in blocks of complete weeks.
- We request 28 days notice for each period of leave to be taken.

📅 Notifying Automata
- At least 28 days before the baby is due you must tell HR:
- The due date
- When you want your leave to start, for example, the day of the birth or the week after the birth
- How many weeks of leave you intend to take
👩⚕️ Antenatal Appointments
- You are entitled to 2 days of paid leave to use for accompanying the mother of the child to antenatal appointments
- Please inform HR (Jess/Karian) and your manager of any scheduled appointments
