Holiday Allowance
30 days + public holidays
- Our leave year runs from 1st Jan - 31st Dec each year
- Automata remains open during the period between Christmas and New Year
- Unless agreed otherwise, all employees are required to utilize holiday days for the festive period. This allocation will be handled by our People Team upon your onboarding. Should you agree to work during this period later in the year, any holiday days used will be reallocated back to you.
- For permanent, full-time, Automata employees, allowance is prorated based on your start date within the leave year
- Part-time employees will have prorated holiday in line with the number of days they work per week
- As per our employment contracts, consecutive holiday blocks are capped at 10 working days, however, we will consider extending this on a case-by-case basis - please reach out to your manager and [email protected] to discuss requests before booking anything
- Any untaken accrued leave, up to 10 days, can be rolled over into the following year but it must be used in the 1st quarter (by May 1st - this will be indicated in Bob)
Holiday Request Process
- Check Time Off in Bob BEFORE booking any holiday and view your delivery team calendar or schedule to avoid conflicts that cause strategic risk to the business or project you’re involved in
- Where possible, pre-approve your holiday with your Manager in person (or on a call) before putting anything in Bob

- Leave a comment in your Bob request to confirm point 2 has been completed
- Your Manager will check the request and approve/deny based on the rest of your teams’ activities during those dates
- Once your holiday has been approved it will auto-populate in your Google Calendar, however, you should give regular reminders to your team in stand-ups and planning sessions
- Creating a handover document is mandatory
- Arrange cover if appropriate
